Spied: Did Citroen Just Pull a Nissan Juke-Styling Stunt on the New C4 Picasso?

Monday, February 4, 2013

We've known for a while that Citroen is developing replacements for the five-seat C4 Picasso and the longer, seven-seater C4 Grand Picasso, and that both minivans will feature a new design.

Nevertheless, these scoop pictures of a convoy of C4 Picasso MPVs driving on the streets of the city of Vigo in Spain, and which come to use courtesy of the crew over at Highmotor, caught us completely off guard - not so much by the fact that the cars were completely undisguised as by what is visible…

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

We've been telling you for some time now that the Citroën is working on the replacements for its C4-based five-seater Picasso and 7-seater Grand Picasso minivans in the popular compact segment in Europe.

We could in fact see one of the two models making their world premiere as early as the Geneva Auto Salon in March, with the Frankfurt motor show in September also being a possible venue for their presentation.

For the past few years, Citroën has covered the mainstream compact MPV market in Europe and other parts of the world with two variations of its C4-based Picasso, the regular five-seater model and the longer seven-seater Grand Picasso.

This won't change with the next generation of the C4 Picasso that will continue to offer buyers a choice of two different body styles.

We've already scooped the five-seater model and now our spies have captured the first photos of the larger and more spacious C4 Grand Picasso while undergoing hot weather testing in Europe.

Engineers continue to test the new generation of the Citroen C4 Picasso, a prototype of which was snapped on camera in Spain ahead of a sales launch early next year.

The car seen here is wearing heavy camouflage but it looks like the French firm's designers have gone for a more hunkered down appearance and less egg-shaped silhouette than the current model.

Not long ago, we reported on the forthcoming, next generation of the Citroen C4 Picasso, which was scooped while undergoing winter testing in Europe. Now, our spies have caught up with two more prototypes of the French firm's popular compact minivan series.

Mystery Spy Shots: Is this is the Next Generation Citroën C4 Picasso MPV?

Monday, March 26, 2012

Our scoopsters have spotted another mystery car undergoing cold weather testing at an undisclosed location in Northern Europe.

To help solve the enigma, our spy photographers told us that at this specific location, they know of two automakers currently testing their vehicles: Citroën and more recently, Qoros Auto, which is a car-start-up created by China's Chery Automobile Co. and investment firm Israel Corp.

While there's a chance the prototype could be a new model for Qoros, we'll agree with our spies that it's very likely a Citroën and more specifically, the next generation of the compact-sized, C4 Picasso MPV.

Lending credence to this is the fact that certain design elements such as the alloy wheels, the door mounted mirrors and even the window line are typical Citroën traits.

Another day, another set of photos of Citroën's new DS concept model. The French magazine tells us that the concept will most likely carry the DS9 moniker and that it will be revealed in a few days ahead of its world premiere at next month's 2012 Beijing Motor Show.

Citroën's Mystery DS Luxury Model Spotted on the Road in Paris

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Now that didn't take long, did it? Less than 24 hours after Citroën shared a pair of teaser photos of a new DS model on its Facebook pages, a blog reader stumbled upon the prototype being hastily covered up on the streets of Paris in France.

The real life shot confirms our suspicions that Citroen's new DS model has a five-door body style, while we'll agree with the folks over at News2zest that its styling looks like a mix of the Metropolis sedan and the GQbyCitroën studies, both of which were shown back in 2010.

Upmarket Citroen DS4 Teased Prior to Geneva Motor Show

Thursday, February 11, 2010

In the same way it did with the DS3 supermini, Citroen is slowly taking the covers off the second member of its premium DS family, the DS4, before its formal debut -most likely in pre-production guise- at next month's Geneva Salon.

The slightly increased ride height suggests that the three-door DS4 may step into crossover territory, further differentiating it from the next-generation C4 hatchback with which it shares its platform and mechanical hardware.
