Toyota Land Cruiser Tries to Avoid Traffic Only to Get Stuck on the Train Rails

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Unless the featured driver of this Toyota Land Cruiser is completely drunk out of his or her mind (something that may be the case anyway…), we will have to take the videographer's explanation for this bizarre incident as granted.

What we are told in the YouTube clip's description, is that the driver of the Japanese SUV tried to use his vehicle's off-road prowess to overcome the traffic at a stop light by jumping on the train (or tram) rails.

Ukrainian Driver and Passenger See Nothing, Hear Nothing, Know Nothing after Crash…

Thursday, October 11, 2012

If you were to begin viewing this video from the 20-second mark and on, you would be excused to think that the driver and his passenger simply parked their beaten up Lada Riva Estate (VAZ-2107) in the middle of the road and left to go on to their work or wherever else they were heading to.

Watch the clip from the start, though, and you will be surprised to learn that a couple of seconds earlier, they had just smashed into the black Toyota Land Cruiser you see sitting behind the Lada!

Thunderstruck: Russian Mayor's Toyota Land Cruiser Almost Hit by Lightning on the Road

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

It’s never a boring day on Russian roads as there's always something interesting to be captured on film by the myriad of dashboard-mounted cameras used by local drivers.

Just the other day (never mind the 2100 date on the video), a resident of the Russian town of Zheleznogorsk, which as we learned, was established in 1950 for the production of weapons-grade plutonium, was minding his own business when all of a sudden thunder struck down on the road at the same time that a Toyota Land Cruiser was passing by.

How to Change Lanes in a Toyota Land Cruiser Like a Hoon

Friday, August 17, 2012

Like most of you, we have also noticed that there's an increasing number of wild incidents in Russia that involve Toyota Land Cruisers.

A few recent examples include a Land Cruiser that hit a pedestrian, another one that purposely splashed mud water over a car in a road-rage-related incident, and a driver that thought it would be a good idea to run the Japanese SUV on the train rails.

How Can You Not Slow Down in Front of a Pedestrian?

Saturday, August 11, 2012

We understand that pedestrians should always use crossings for their own safety but under no circumstances does that mean a driver of a motorized vehicle should not yield the right of way to a human being who is walking across the road.

Just take look at the following video in which we see a Toyota Land Cruiser rolling at a low speed towards a woman who is passing through the road at that moment.

We Don't Know Why, But They Say this Russian Driver was Drunk

Thursday, August 2, 2012

If you happen to be intoxicated, it's never a good idea to step inside a car and take a seat behind the wheel, since all sorts of things can go wrong.

As for this gentlemen who was allegedly buzzed off the wagon after a late night party in the Russian town of Yasnogorsk, we'll just tell you that despite his alcohol-induced groove, he did manage to get his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV off the grass.

Toyota Land Cruiser Seeks Watery Revenge on Avensis Driver

Monday, July 30, 2012

Not all road rage incidents in Russia end up with fists doing the talking as some motorists prove to be highly imaginative when it comes to revenge – regardless whether they are right or wrong.

Video footage caught from a following vehicle shows a silver Toyota Land Cruiser SUV and a Toyota Avensis sedan trying to squeeze into a single lane with neither driver doing the sensible thing by cutting back and letting the other one enter.

This Toyota Land Cruiser Feels Like a Train on Rails

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Like any other country in the world, Russia has its fair share of traffic jams with motorists always trying to find a shortcut to avoid wasting hours on end waiting in line.

Some, of course, are much more imaginative and reckless dare-devilish than others, like the owner of this Toyota Land Cruiser (unless we are mistaken and it is the SUV's Lexus sibling) who placed his vehicle on the train rails.

If you happen to read about a train accident in Russia, you will know whom to blame…

Thursday, April 12, 2012

A wraparound metal bull bar…check. A safari-style snorkel kit…check. Blacked out windows…check. So, what's missing from this rough n' tough 4x4, which if we're not hugely mistaken, is an older generation Toyota Land Cruiser?

Well, you may as well forget the 4x4 part, as the driver lost one of the SUV's wheels while cruising on a...paved road! Watch a video of the incident in all its glory right after the break.

Russian GAZ-69 Shows Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Who's the Boss

Monday, January 2, 2012

Not all four-wheel drive models are made equal, and while Toyota's Land Cruiser series has made a name for itself as a durable and capable 4x4, there are certain vehicles out there that were purpose built for the harshest off-road environments.

One of those vehicles is the GAZ-69, a light off-road vehicle designed for the Soviet Army. The all-knowing Wikipedia tells us that it was produced initially by GAZ from 1953 to 1955 and by UAZ from 1954 until 1972, while Romania's ARO also built the truck under license from 1957 to 1975.

In the following video, we see a GAZ-69 successfully pulling a Toyota Land Cruiser 100 across a river. An impressive feat to say the least.

2012 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Facelift Breaks Cover in Japan, Previews Global Model

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Toyota has officially revealed a refreshed version of its Land Cruiser 200 or V8 (not to be confused with the smaller Land Cruiser / Prado) in its home market of Japan, with most changes expected to pass on the global variant as well.

The new exterior mirrors with turning signals, along with the different tail lamp graphics and newly designed alloy wheels in sizes 18- and 20-in. complete the look.

Changes to the interior are limited to the graphics of the instrument panel, an improved TFT screen info placed between the two main gauges, and new colors and trim materials for the cabin.

Toyota Readying Some Mild Model Year Changes for Land Cruiser 200 / V8?

Thursday, December 1, 2011

The images you see here and which are circulating around the net today, are said to have been sourced from a leaked JDM brochure of the 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser (marketed as the 200 or V8 in certain markets to distinguish it from the smaller Land Cruiser Prado).

While we do, of course, remain somewhat skeptical, they do appear to be genuine. The opening picture shows the Land Cruiser 200 kitted out with original Toyota accessories, but it appears that the headlights and the chrome grille have been tweaked.

Nothing brings you back to driving-reality quite as effectively as good a ol' cold shower, or in this case, a puddle bath. Photos and a video of the accident after the break.
